Sourcing responsibly produced seafood is a complicated task as it usually requires managing numerous supplier relationships, verifying quality and conditions and then ensuring the product story is properly communicated to consumers so they can better understand the value and difference of such products. Our team works directly with suppliers to deploy technologies, craft product stories, and identify new markets that are well suited for storied products. We also work with retail and food service brands to develop supplier connections and bring responsibly sourced products to market.
Traceability & Supply Chain Technology
Traceability is more than just knowing the source of a product, but also knowing the conditions and treatment of that product from the point of harvest to the point of consumption. We work directly with producers using sensors to better understand and refine product quality, mobile apps to provide accessible tools to fishers, farmers and consumers, and blockchain technology to incentivize data capture and trace the journey of our food along the supply chain. We also work with value adding partners using technologies such as Ultra-Low Temperature (ULT) freezing and High Pressure Pasteurization (HPP) to increase shelf life and reduce food waste.
Our team works in partnership with brands and other stakeholders to create end to end sustainability programs that engage consumers as well as influencers to be ambassadors for the programs. This sheds additional light on the commitments being made by brands and members of supply chains toward sustainable and responsible behaviors. These programs engage consumers through multiple channels, along with using trusted food ambassadors such as local and celebrity chefs to communicate the message.
